I am familiar with Plesk, and in that system if you want an account with multiple domains, you set the number of domains the client can have.

With Cpanel there are Parked Domains, Addon Domains and subdomains - which one corresponds the most to the Plesk version?

It looks me that in order to all multiple independent domains for a user, I have to make them resellers and allow them to create a fixed number of predetermined account type.

Is that right?

With regards to email, can email addresses be created only for the domain the account was created under?

Yes, that's right. Cpanel's addon domains is merely subdomains with domain mapping.

Huh? Can you rephrase? Not quite sure what you want to do here.

The control panel will let you create email accounts with @domainname where domain name can be the main domain or any of the domains parked on it.

Does that mean parked domains only or subdomains and addon domains as well?

If there is a full domain name added to cPanel, add on or parked, it can have it's own email address setup for it. Sub domain names can also have there own email address also.
