Anyone could point me to some bit of info on how to get started?
I'v update my domain's nameservers over at my registar for the 2 ip's given in the intro email.
Now I have to setup that ns1/ns2 .mydomain.com somewhere. But where?
Domain problem aside, I put that IP in my browser and it times out.
I can login to the power panel and via remote connection so the server is "up" heh.
I'v tried starting that Default Website Service, nothing.
Then added the DNS thing as another post told to in the HowTo section and were met here with alot of options i had no idea wich ones to choose, forward zone, reverse zone, ?? im lost here heh.
Quickstart guide anyone? no plesk panel heh :)

Hi there
Sounds like you chose webmin, correct? No services are setup for you. The idea being you run only what you want and exactly what you want. However this means you need to know how to do this on the commandline, or through webmin, as well as what to do :)
So, any redhat/centos related documentation will help, but to address your questions.
1. For DNS, read up on named (bind). This can be managed from webmin, but requires understanding of how to configure bind zone files.
2. Using your IP should work if apache is running. Try 'service httpd start'. This will only give you a default page and if want to host more than one domain you'll need to read up on virtual hosting with apache.
If you enjoy this, then rock on - you'll have a blast. If you don't, get a panel :)

Thanks for your reply charles
I'm using the Windows server, not linux.
IIS is running, i'v started the Default Website thing.
Tried with Unasigned IP or even my own ip, stop, start, nothing.
I'm kind of lost here. It Should work no?
maybe for some reason its my computer or network heh.
Thank You :)

Hehe. Ok, all the priciples apply, your just using different tools :)
I forgot to mention that in the spirit of security, we install a firewall on your VPS and lock down all ports not needed. This holds true for windows, so thats your problem right now. Try opening port 80 (standard windows firewall).

I've setup my name server redirectors with godaddy.
ns1.elementsystems.net and n2.elementsystems.net
But the DNS configuration is not working on my Windows Box because I think it wont let me install Active Directory.....any thoughts, ideas or resources to help me out?

Sure did get everything working :)
This is what you need to do:
1. forget about active directory or something
2. Install DNS (Administrative Tools -> Manage your Server -> Install new ROLE)
3. Select advanced, I will create zones myself
4. Now create a forward zone called "elementsystems.net"
5. and replicate everything you see in the folowing picture: http://www.*****.net/ns.png, but with your corresponding IP's of course.
Also, make sure Primary Server is set to: "ns1.elementsystems.net."
Hope this helps,
Wojtek
P.S I'm thinking of writing a little Windows-0 tutorial on how to setup everything with no control panel heh. I'm sure it could be usefull for other people as well.
