I sent out this email this morning to the sales department and got no reply. Seems quite strange considering the reputation of quick response they have. So maybe it was some accident that I didn't get the reply...maybe the reply was killed by my SpamAssessin!

Hi I am a Dinix refugee and about to sign up a VPS with you.

Where are your servers located? If I sign up now, where my VPS will be? If you have more than one data center, do I have a choice as to where I want my VPS be? If I were to sign up two VPS, can I have them in two separate data centers, so that if one data center has problem I won't lose both of them?

I am in the East Coast, so is there away to set the VPS to show Eastern Time Zone?

Do you have any special deal for the Dinix refugees?

Hi Rocky,

It's strange that PowerVPS didn't reply. I don't represent PowerVPS, I'm just a customer but I'll answer some of your questions.

1) Where are your servers located?

The Equinix Data Center in Ashburn VA. A great data center, I might add. I don't think the VPSs are being placed anywhere else at the moment.

2) If I sign up now, where my VPS will be?

In the Equinix data center.

3) If you have more than one data center, do I have a choice as to where I want my VPS be?

There is only one data center for VPSs as far as I know so this is N/A.

4) If I were to sign up two VPS, can I have them in two separate data centers, so that if one data center has problem I won't lose both of them?

I don't know about that one...I'm think there is another data center for dedicated servers but I don't think PowerVPS puts any VPSs there. Don't worry, Equinix is an excellent data center, top class, better than EV1, The Planet (it's a neutral data center however so they don't provide bandwidth and it's somewhat different) and most of others.

You will have that option in Power Panel (for Power Panel only) and in WHM for the rest of the server.

6) Do you have any special deal for the Dinix refugees?

I don't know.
