Must have tools for Plesk/VPS

Hello,

I would like to collect a list of tools and resources for managing Plesk VPS.
Basically, stuff for beginners, must do, must have utilities, etc' .

Are there any easy tools that can relpace Terminal SSH commands for example ?
I see a lot about YUM, what is it, and why many use it ?

So please try to throw a few lines, so beginners can start looking some where.

1. Install Rkhunter, BFD, APF, mod_security with gotroot rules.

2. Change SSH to SSH2 only and change port

3. Update any scripts and software :)
