Hello.
I will soon move two ecommerce sites on my VPS, and without SSL they are dead. Is anyone familiar with moving a SSL certificate from a host to another?
Any walkthough / tips are appreciated.
Thank you.

I just moved 4 such sites from a cpanel reseller account at another provider to my VPS. Piece of cake. I went to the existing WHM (not root access) and did a full backup of each site via ssh to the home directory of my vps. Went into my WHM on my vps and restored them from the backup. Assigned each site a dedicated IP. Then used the WHM to reinstall the SSL from the site certs stored within the backup and they work fine. I was a little concerned that a different IP would make the certs null, but that wasn't the case.
I hope that helps.

Actually I was interested in configuring Apache directly.
However, it's piece of cake, all I had to do was to transfer the .crt and .key files and add load them in the VirtualHost sections from httpd.conf. These were simple certificates, I'm not sure about wildcard ones, but shouldn't be different.
Thanks for your post Chris!

Do you know if you'd be able to move the SSL cert by just transferring the CPanel account over using WHM's transfer accounts feature with username and password?

I don't believe the cert is automatically moved with the account when it's transfered via WHM. The main reason is that there could be problems if you restore the account onto a shared IP and a cert already exists. But reinstalling the cert is pretty simple... just restore the account on the new dedicated IP, and use the WHM's SSL manager to paste in your CSR and key. :)

Old thread, yes, but for anyone in the future who does this.
I just moved my sites recently, and it was really easy to install the SSL certificate. All I did, after the sites were moved, is this. Go to the install an ssl cert section of whm, and simply type in your domain name where the certificate should go, in the appropriate field, such as, for me, secure.zapx.net. It then refreshes after you take focus off that field and all the information is filled in, you click "do it", and it's all done.
