Bfd, how to check if bfd is running?

Well the title says it all.
Have been searching on the net to see how to check if bfd is running, but didn't find anything about it.

It is not a service, so you cannot see it running.
It is run with a CRON job, every few minutes (depends what the CRON is set for).

If you have it set up to email you when there is a brute force attack, and it has been several days without an email... it might not be running.

I got BF's the day I got my server. Average of 5 a day.

I've allready added my email address in /usr/local/bfd/conf.bfd.
Am I supposed to add it in /usr/src/bfd-0.9/cron to?

Cron says it runs every ten minutes., but I changed it to every five minutes.

I'm no linux expert, but my understanding of /usr/src is that everythign in there is source files for compiling etc. So no, no need to add it there.

You can also check /etc/apf/deny_hosts.rules
And see if BFD has added any entries.

Simply typing "bfd" at the terminal shows BFD options/parameters.

As far as I am concerned, this should be proof enough that its running...Correct me if I'm wrong. If it wasnt running that command wouldnt trigger anything.

I rarely get BF emails...One ocassions (touch wood) its happened, and BFD alerted me.
