I am new to the Windows VPS accounts and thus far they are excellent. One thing I am a little confused about is the backups. I've questioned support about backups and I have conflicting answers. Do the Windows VPS backups get rotated automatically? If not, then this is a huge disappointment.

Hi there,
If you are referring to the backups made by Virtuozzo, then the answer is no. In order to be able to rotate the backups we would need to develop a custom script for that, which would take a bit of time to do.
You would really need to clean up backups only 2 times a month, since you can store up to 14 backups of your VPS (2 full and 12 increments).
Hope that was helpful!

When I asked about backups, your support team referred me to a FAQ that clearly states that backups are rotated. See support #GHK-96152-795
The knowledgebase article states:
"PowerVPS backs up your VPS nightly to a dedicated backup server with a raid5 or raid10 array. The nightly backups are incremental [1] for six days, and on the seventh day a weekly full backup [2] is performed. Two full backups are kept and the old ones rotated out automatically."

Can I assume that no one at Defender wants to address my question?

That FAQ was initially written for LINUX systems. :)
Windows is an entirely different beast.
Now... when one of OUR backups exceed the maximum number of set backups allowed, it cycles the oldest out. If you try to go in and make your own backup, it will tell you that you need to remove one before you can make another.
Also... please note... these forums are not for official support. Regarding someone at Defender not wanting to answer you... that's certainly not the case. If you have a question you want answered by us, the best place to do that is in a ticket. While members of the staff visit the forums, etc... it's not a guaranteed avenue for assistance. These forums are basically for user-to-user help.

Rob:
Thanks for clarifying. I did originally contact support about this issue. Your support team sent me the Linux link.
