I'm considering
Upgrading existing VPS to the next level
or
Getting an additional VPS with cpanel
Any pros or cons or other thoughts on which to do?
Also, if I get another VPS, can I tie them together somehow with WHM so I only have to manage one WHM interface and account?
Please share your experiences and thoughts
Thanks so much

Let's see what other users have to say, but here are the pros and cons as I see it.
Pros of 2 VPS:
1. You don't have all your eggs in one basket (they would be hosted on seperate physical servers)
2. You probably end up wirth more cpu overall than with one larger VPS
Cons of 2 VPS:
1. More work to manage 2
2. Costs slightly more than 1 larger VPS.
As far as tying them together, you can do DNS clustering with cpanel which is very handy. I dont know of a higher level tool to manage 2 cpanel servers (i'm $ure they exist), but you can provision to more than one out of tools like Clientexec and Modernbill.
Plesk does support managing multiple plesk servers from one panel, although I have never tried it.

If you want (need) cpanel and plesk, then 2 VPS sounds good. But with 2 VPS you get additional security and update headaches (as charles mentioned), especially since they are different flavors. It depends on your knowledge level and how much time you want to spend on it. If the answer is little to both, then a single vps might me better. my 2 cents... :-)
