Since my server was upgraded to Virtuozzo 3.0 I've had nothing but email problems.

First I started off with support ticket DGN-83001-118 : "Emails sent from domain name" : which was a problem with a domain name queuing up emails sent by the user but then not actually sending them out.

This was fixed but as a side effect I then had DOR-19160-620 : "URGENT: Unable to add domain" - this stopped me from adding a new domain to my server and resulted in a long error message from Plesk about qmail and adding the domain with email stuff.

That has to be fixed by SWSoft themselves and it was fixed but then I had HZL-36276-737 : "Duplicate emails". This was giving me two, three and sometimes four copies of emails in my inbox on two or three mailboxes. Which was a bit annoying after deleting the five hundreth email.

That was fixed this morning but now I'm getting another one and this one really is very annoying and is causing me huge problems. TUY-92130-668 : "VERY URGENT: More Email Problems". The server now seems to be arguing with itself and is sending out failure notices to people sending emails to valid mailboxes on my server. This one is a peach....

<postmaster@host.thegamescast.com>:
204.157.11.187 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts; no valid cert for gatewaying (#5.7.1) Giving up on 204.157.11.187.

Reading that literally it's saying it doesn't like itself so it's giving up on itself movign emails through itself? I'm lost and at my wits end. How many other email problems can there be?

What I want to know is this - is this is a side effect of upgrading to Virtuozzo3 (I'd think Virtuozzo and Plesk are quite seperate?) or is there a bigger problem with my server. I can't believe for one moment that the first problem led to the others and that I'm in a vicious chain of one fixed problem causing another.

Has anyone else had these sort of problems? Or is it just me?

The only thing that changes as far as your VPS is concerned is the kernel itself. And mail is 100% unrelated to the kernel. :)

Now... you might have had these problems MUCH earlier, but not seen them till the VPS restarted (after the migrate) because the applications were running in memory.

Support should be able to help get you straightened out. :)

Yup, got to admit I've been calling on the support team a lot recently because of the mail issues and I can't fault any of them. Top notch. I was planning on upgrading the server to a Power-2 before this weekend. I'm assuming it'll be best to wait until the mail problem is sorted or would upgrading the server package do away with the problems anyhow?

Upgrading changes absolutely nothing inside the VPS itself. All it does is tell Virtuozzo to let you take more of the big pie. :)

So feel free to upgrade anytime you like!

So we're a week on and I'm still having the duplicate email problems. The NDR's have slowed almost to a point of maybe one a day.

The support guys have SWSoft looking at it but it's been over a week now. Is anyone else on a PLESK system getting the same problem or is it just me?

Hi, I have a VPS from IPowerWeb since April. Everything was going good until I upgraded to an unlimited domain licence... Now I have all sort of problems.

I can receive emails under my VPS domans and I can send email but they never arrive to their destination... I already have 3 days trying to fix this issue with support but no response from them so far...

Is there anyone with the same problem or has faces the same issue?

Thanks for your replies.
Paco.

This is a strange problem indeed. I have seen it in 2 or 3 places, but I definitely don't see it on every Plesk 8, Virtuozzo 3, Centos 4 system we have.

We're working closely with the SWSoft developers to sort this out, and doing our best to fix any problems we find in the back-end of things.

If worse comes to worst, support can always build and license a new VPS for you, and you can migrate your accounts over.

Pacofresan,

After about 9 days of hard work the Power VPS guys got my server sorted and since then I've had no problems at all. in the end it will get fixed. Have faith in them.
