Hi Darren
Sorry for the confusion over this. It is always available, but usually at a nominal fee. However we currently have a special that gives it to you for free for the life of the server.

I just got my VPS a week or two agao and opened a ticket to have them set it up, and was done very quickly.
Here's a question of my own... did I automatically get the 250GB bandwidth as per the special on the Power-1 plan? I'm not sure if there is a way to check for sure that I have it in place?

Il send them a ticket not sure hwo to find out how much bandwidth you got on the accoutn. New to VPS after upgrading from a reseller account i thought this woudl be the way forward!

Yeah, much better than reseller if you can deal with the extra responsibility. I went from VPS to reseller awhile back thinking to save money and have less to worry about, but am now back with VPS. Performance with the reseller account was too variable, I had too little control over settings, and their mailserver IP was continually blacklisted by spamcop.

lol..im already settling in the cost of my reseller account wasnt far off what im paying here and you seem to get alot more here and alot more control :)
Hopefully its the way forward for my network :)

You should be good to go with the extra space when you sign up. However if you ever have any questions regarding your allocations, please feel free to contact support. We're more than happy to help with whatever we can.
If anyone has performance issues, please drop us a note as well. Generally we can make some optimizations to your VPS depending on what resources are being used most. I've got a few Knowledge Base articles in the works as well for how to increase performance out of your server. I just have to find an hour or so that I can spend typing it up and making it look pretty. hehe

You can see your bandwidth used in the VZPP, but you cannot see how much you have on your account, as that is kept in our back-end customer database, which doesn't exist in a user portal at this time.
What we do is nightly run cron jobs that tally up the bw used per vps based on their billing cycle, and compare to what we have on file for a customers VPS, then we can determine if the VPS has any overage or not.
99.99999% of customers barely use half of their included bandwidth.

How accurate is the VZPP? I know for a fact I have transferred 5x the data that it reports. Also, VZPP and WHM differ substantially. Not that I'm complaining since they err on the side of the customer.

Hi,
just a couple of questions:
- I'm new to VPS, always used reseller accounts (Cpanel-WHM) and I'm far from being a sys-admin.. is there something I should know if I go for a VPS? Just need to host a couple of domains in a solid server and have the cpanel for them, and (hopefully) forget all the rest..
However if you ever have any questions regarding your allocations, please feel free to contact support. We're more than happy to help with whatever we can.
Good to hear this: i need to host a community/forum with 10000 members, usually we have 80 online but for 2-3 weeks a year they're more then 500.. :( Average pageviews are 12000 but in hot days they are about 50000. We don't waste more then 10 gb a month and just use 200 mb of space.
Can you handle this? :o

Regarding the bandwidth useage... PowerPanel would be the most accurate, and that's what we'll use when determining overages, etc.
Regarding Marrrc's question... if you are going to have over 500 folks online at a time, I would seriously suggest a dedicated server. A VPS would not be a good solution for it in my opinion. If you were averaging still 80-100, I would suggest a Power-2 or a Power-3 package. But with 500 online at one time (remember... most forums show connections over 15-20 minutes, not at ONCE at that very moment) it might be a bit much.
If you want to give it a try, I would suggest signing up for a Power-2 and getting eacellerator installed as well as tweeking the mysql my.cnf file (support can help a little with this... we can't do 100% server optimization services, but we can help with "tweeking" performance.)
If it is still sluggish after tweeking, we can upgrade you from a Power-2 to a Power-3 for a few days free to let you try it out to see if it would be enough power for your needs.
Give us a holler if you need anything else.
