Do you know if there are any plans or announcements from SWSoft to support this?

Thanks

Hi there,

In the future, if you want an official answer from us, the best way to get it is to email sales@powervps.com. :) While members of the staff and management team do poke around the forums from time to time, it's not a proper venue for support or other "official answers". The forums are designed for customer-to-customer chat. We just chip in here and there and participate in disucssions.

Regarding PHP5/MySQL5... neither is supported BY DEFAULT in Plesk. Plesk installs version 4 of both services. Now... it technically can support both. It just means running the PHP5 RPMs from the ART repos. Regarding mySQL5... I've seen it technically work before, but it's not listed on the "OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED BY SWSOFT" list that I've seen. Again, just grab the correct RPMs and install.

Regarding when they'll support it by default... we don't know this. We don't have any control over when they add/remove features and such unfortunately.

FYI from the SWSoft Website

Knowledge Base Article #378

PHP 5 is supported since Plesk 7.5.4 Reloaded version.

Just
put PHP5 module into Apache modules folder and add the module into
httpd.conf configuration file (instead of PHP4) with "LoadModule"
directive, it will be used by Plesk automatically.
If you wish PHP5
version be displayed on the Components page in Plesk CP you have to
install corresponded PHP5 RPM and all dependencies.
