Newbie Question

Hello folks, I have just signed up for a Linux Cpanel VPS. I was previusly using a reseller account through some company and would like to learn more on WHM etc...

My question is how do I get email setup?
Example I create an account in WHM, then I log in Cpanel and create the email account. When I set up the account in Thunderbird it returns with failure to respond to server.

Do I have to set up some extra service/settings to allow email usage to myself and any resellers I create in WHM?

Sorry for such a basic question, I just could not find something like this on the bulletin boards.

Is it possible your IP address/DNS change hasn't completed yet and you are still trying to access your old webserver?

Also, are you using mail.yourdomainname.com as your incoming and outgoing mailservers? Are you using your full e-mail address as your username? You may want to double check you're not using secure password authentication (SPA) when checking for mail.
