Hi Karen - so nice to see you! Welcome.
I was just listening to Alison Krauss and thought of you before I saw your post.
I'm a little over half done moving accounts over from the other host and I ONLY have great things to say about PowerVPS. They've been super helpful. Let me know if you need more info.
I've been here only about one week, but have two VPS accounts and have received glowing support.

I have signed up :D
I will definitely have an advantage with moving sites and vps -- I have a 16 year son who is going to be helping out and he will eventually be taking over the hosting aspect of my business (I'm a web designer).

Congrats Karen! - glad to have you here. You won't regret it. Do you and Dustin plan to move most of your client sites here eventually?
As I mentioned in other threads, I'm a little over halfway moved and haven't really had any major issues. The staff here have been wonderful in helping out.
Make sure to request the RVSkins and extra bandwidth per this page:

Yea, Dustin is going to do the majority of the work :D And I'm a step ahead - already requested the rvskins -- didn't know about the extra bandwidth.

Welcome Karen,
Good to see another one from the 'old country' (old host). You will like it here. And I see you are already making your presence known. ;) 14 posts and counting.

Did I get RVSKINS if I did not request it? Where do I look?

Kevin, I believe you have to request it.

Hi Karen, The most loyal of all HTTPme'rs jumping ship? Or just augmenting.
I have no complaints there. For various reasons, it's time for me to move on. The most important reason is that having a VPS will give Dustin the opportunity to learn more about hosting. He's suppose to be taking over the hosting side of the business so I can concentrate on web design, including accessible web design, and other things :D

Yeah, I couldn't agree more with you. I think PowerVPS should have some sort of HTTPme refugee special. I think 11 have signed up after I did, lol (and I didn't tell a soul)...

Just out of curiosity, how did everyone from that old host come to find PowerVPS? I found them after seeing only prositive reviews (a rarity among even the best hosting companies) on WebHostingTalk.com.

I honestly cannot remember how I found powervps. I think I google searched on VPS, found this (among others) and saw fourbit in the forum - that made me look harder at this place...

I shopped around on WHT and read very positive info about PowerVPS. Actually even got a recommendation here from one of their competitors (who wasn't as highly regarded on WHT).
The deciding factor was not the features - it was the responsiveness of Sales Support and the fact that they offer managed services. I emailed three different VPS companies at the same time asking a variety of tedious questions and Charles answered my onslaught of questions about 100 times faster than either of the other companies and much more completely.
I'd looked at unmanaged services too, but am still a relative newbie with the workings of Linux, so wanted to make sure I could get help when needed without paying through the schnoz.
*Didn't talk to anyone at the other host about moving, although a few suggested it when I posted asking about a few needs I had that were beyond the scope of their services, or simply cost-prohibitive. IMO, their dedicated solutions are crazy expensive.

Or, maybe we could get a spiff for referrals. ;)
Actually we have a referal program. :)
Our referral program is a one-time payout of $25 per customer that you send our way, as long as that customer remains with us for at least 45 days.
Payment is made after the 45 days via check, paypal, or credit to your account.
Make sure to e-mail sales about the person who signed up (if you can give us they're name and domain, it will help us match up accounts).
