Dear Customer,

We are excited to launch the beta test of our Windows VPS Solutions, based on Virtuozzo for Windows.

The software is finally at a point where it is functionally usable and stable for customer hosting. We invite you to sign-up and get in on this beta cycle, slots are limited, so reply now!

You will be getting a Windows Power-1 VPS with Plesk 7.0 installed on it. We should be able to upgrade you to Plesk Reloaded 7.5 in the next week or so when the new templates are released.

Please understand, this is a beta test, and the hardware nodes may need to rebooted from time to time, and your VPS may very well crash. So please, do not host mission critical data on your Windows VPS (yet). Remember this is BETA, while other hosting companies are actually selling a beta product, we would rather work out the issues and make sure you are aware that it is beta and it will have problems, and it's free!

To sign-up for the beta, please do one of the following:

If you are an Existing Customer: Please send your DVE # or IP address to sales@powervps.com.

If you are a New Customer: Please send us the following data:

Email address
Password
First Name
Last name
Address, city, state, zip, country
Instant Messenger and IM handle
Domain name to use on your Windows VPS

Once we have this information, we will create your Windows VPS and email you back directions to access your VPS.

We require that each customer that is participating in the beta to sign-up on the forums at http://forums.deftechgroup.com and post feedback in the Windows VPS Sections (General, Security, and Plesk sections). You can also email support@powervps.com to report problems or submit bug reports.

We expect the beta cycle to last between 2 and 4 weeks. Please be advised that backups are NOT taking place during the beta cycle, you are advised to backup your own data off-line as necessary.

Please understand, our AUP and TOS terms apply to the Windows VPS beta testing as well.

Hi Tom, I think it's a good idea to provide Windows VPS Plans, but can you explain their specifications??

Regards,
Wael Radhi

Wael, we plan on offering two plans initially, both equivalent to the current Power-1 and Power-2 plans (256M RAM/10G disk). We will start all beta customers on the Power-1.

Please note there are many differences between windows and linux when it comes to resource control. For example, memory is simply controlled with one parameter now, and we have yet to see how this affects bursting etc.

A large part of the beta test is to see how well the VPS perform and how much memory is needed to be useful.

Well, the current plans are useful, but as you said lets see what will happen with the windows VPS.

I've got a client that wants to host a Traveler server, which is a 3D VR world where users use an avatar and chat with each other. Currently it only works on Windows and I've agreed to run it off my home server for the time being.

I don't want to move my current account to a Windows server, but if you guys wont mind setting me up with a test account to let this client try his server out on it, I might consider purchasing a 2nd windows plan once they come out of beta.

AVG kicked it back for some reason, so I'm sending through my GMail account.
