From time to time I check the "manage mail queue" option in WHM to see if any mails are sitting in there doing nothing.

I find a mail or two every second day that seems to be stuck in the queue and when I press the deliver now option it clears it.

My question, if I do not do this will WHM do it automatically ? Or will this queue end up jamming up ?

WHM will automatically send the email at the interval on that page (after the time runs out). If the mail can't be sent again, the interval will be extended. I don't remember until what point, I think three months, after which the email is just deleted.

Yep, it's automatic, you can change this setting to alter the interval
"WHM > Tweak Settings > Number of minutes between mail server queue runs"

It depends on how much mail you have in the queue usually, if it's not too much, then 60 is OK. If it's a lot then you might think of setting it higher...

It means than if i send an email, maybe it take 60 minutes to get delivered to the destination ?? Is not a little "LONG TIME PERIOD" ?

It will try to deliver the mail immediately initially... if it cannot send it, it places the mail in the queue. It will then try to deliver the mail every XX minutes.

Hi Robert,
Do you know if the 60 minutes interval means sending ALL messages in the queue at the same time, or relates to each individual message, as in 'since initial attempt'?
