SWSoft no longer sells Plesk 7. As such we can no longer provision Plesk 7 systems, and have been forced to provision only Plesk 8 systems.

We can no longer generate Plesk 7 licenses. For those customers on Plesk 7, it is time to consider upgrading to Plesk 8.

Difficulties/Major Changes with Plesk 8:

1. No Frontpage support is available on Plesk 8. This is due to Microsoft declaring Frontpage end of life, and ending support for it.
2. Plesk 7-generated backups can not be restored on a Plesk 8 system, due to a change in backup encoding, and lack of backwards compatibility. There is a workaround at: http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.1/Doc/plesk-8.1-unix-backup-restore-users-guide.pdf
but it does require good technical skills, and we cannot do it for you, due to liability issues should we lose any of your data.
3. Plesk 8 language packs are not as complete as Plesk 7 language packs. The languages packs that don't yet exist on Plesk 8 are being developed, but SWSoft has been unable to provide us with an ETA. If you require a certain language pack, please check with support to see if it is available in Plesk 8.

We will continue supporting Plesk 7 so long as SWSoft continues to offer support for it as well. This is not a notice that we are ending support for Plesk 7, merely a warning that it is no longer available for new orders.

At this point, I highly recommend that you prepare to move to Plesk 8, and plan for the loss of some features from Plesk 7.
