I was wondering if the Power-1 servers run on Raid10 or Raid5 hardware.

Hi Dan
We have a mixture of both.

Charles,
Can you tell me what my VPS is running on. I had experienced some slowness on and off and from other postings I see that RAID10 would really make a difference as compared to RAID5.
I am VPS 994.
Thanks
Dan

You are on a raid 10 system. If you ever have any performance problems, please contact support (preferrably at the time that it's happening) so we can take a look. There are no issues with the server you are on, so you should not be seeing any slowness due to the server. If/when you see a slowness, also run winmtr for a few minutes and proive the output and your IP address so we can rule out network problems.

Thanks Charles. The performance has been much better in the last few days. I am not using Tomcat so a recommendation from your support staff was to stop the service to free up that memory and that seemed to have helped. I was just curious to know if maybe the Raid thing could have had an affect as well.

Most likely not. I've watched the node a bit and I'm not seeing anything as far as high IO wait, or anything else. My guess was that Java was using a bit too much memory and it caused the slowdown.
