So I installed ClamWin (ClamAV antivirus) to protect the box (just in case), updated and set up to use low priority in the processes consumption. Then I started the scan to see how it performs. From what can I see it looks like an average PIII box - sometimes bursting very very fast but sometimes going into stall. This was expected for a VPS... But some of the stalls last for 10s od seconds. I hope it does not perform same with databases and sites... But - I must mention - these stalls are only in the file scans - the antivirus itself, the VPS, remote desktop and even http loading is performing fine.
I will test some portals and ask my friend (experienced ASP programmer) to do another round of tests.
I've downloaded few files from the box and was not too much amazed 100kb/s but... still ok.
One other thing I have seen was after a while I could not connect to remote desktop (I would get only a black screen in the internet explorer followed by auto-close. After I restarted the VPS all was fine. Numsessions was the critical parameter in the log - but I did not have more then 1 session open with the remote desktop - so maybe here is the problem - the remote desktop might not close old sessions resulting into problems such these.
I will update...
I'm not sure about ClamWin performance... something that we'll have to run some tests on to get an average. Could just be encountering large files to process on the VPS. In regard to your RDC problem, you need to click start then log out when you've completed your session, or it will be saved and left open; each time you connect, you'll stack another session until you reach your user limit.
Instead of using the web browser, you may find it easier and more accessible to use either microsoft's RDC client downloadable from: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/tools/rdclientdl.mspx
Or, if you're using windows XP (Pro), you can access the built-in RDC client at start->programs->accessories->communications->remote desktop connection

Thanks for the heads up. I assumed that this was the problem.
Pretty much I am happy with the way the VPS behaves.

Our system monitoring was down last night so I don't have any historical data to look at. We'll try this ourselves.

I'm very interested to hear how this goes!

Mmh. Can you please try download http://download.powervps.com/uumap.tar.Z and let me know if you get any better? Otherwise send a traceroute to support and include your source IP so we can trace back.

We limit you to one license as we have to pay for them. So you need to disconnect cleanly or you will be locked out until it times out or you reboot.
