I've run into many problems with building the latest Mono and trying to use Webmin to upgrade all the dependent libraries is like building a ship in a bottle.
Is it posible to get my VM upgraded to Core 4 or at least Core 3?
Or is there a better alternative to getting all the development libraries in Core 2 up to date?

No

What libraries are you finding too old?

The ones needed to build Mono 1.1.8, it starts with glib complaints during the build, then trtying to upgrade to what it wants leads to other dependencies and those to others.
I'll keep working on it, sooner or later I'll get everything upgraded so the build completes.
Thanks.

Just FYI, this is a few clicks on a cpanel server (running fc-2) so maybe you just need the glibc compat libs or something.
