Just got our shiny new VPS, about ready to storm in and upgrade to php5 mysql 4.1, but I don't want to upset the plesk control panel (I don't care about what versions of php/mysql it reports as running, just so long as it's running).
I found this tutorial http://www.whoopis.com/howtos/php5-mysql4-FC3-rpm.html but from the way I read it it's going to remove some of the sw-soft packages which will potentially kill my control panel ? Or can I safely remove these packages without worry.
If anyone has upgraded could you give me some pointers or a healthy tutorial to use. I'll take the onus to write up a complete how to afterwards to share the knowledge around..
