If I were to go with the CPANEL POWER-1 package, is it fully managed by PowerVPS just like I have with my current shared hosting package?
I don't even pretend to understand all the terminology! LOL I just need to know that I can play around with my site/forum and someone else runs the stuff behind the scenes, like the security and updates etc.... Maybe one day I'll get to that point, but I can't do it now. :)

Sorry, I forgot to ask......with the above package, how many users do you suggest to be on the forum at one time, for any length of time.
I'm getting timed out trying to post this.
It's pretty much fully managed--the support team is quick at handling issues, too.
As far as users, you can easily do about 30, depending on the software and have many intensive mods you have, if any.

What he said :)
Sorry for the slow response times here. A ticket to sales will be faster, but even that needs work at times. But that should have no reflection on our support response time which is excellent.

I have one phpbb forum with 50-100 users at a time with no problems, eaccelerator and query cache help a lot!

Yeah, you can probably push that much too, PowerVPS doesn't "dampen" the CPU like some other company does ;)

Hmm... now who would that be...? ;)
Optimize Apache / Mysql add php cache. You can easy have a site with 100+ users on at one time and still have a zippy site. We have custom coding and SEO board and it is able to pump out 500+ pages/min and have sub 0.00x load times.

Thanks, I appreciate all the replies.
I appreciate the ability to put in a sales support ticket, just scoping everything out right now. I have already heard some good things, enough to make me come and look. :D
I have a site with a vbulletin forum. I have about 600 members and I'm noticing that we are steadily increasing our numbers for members being online at the same time.
There can be about 40-60 members online at once, but it really flucuates through out the day. It's not like there are 60 members online 24 hours a day, but it is busy.
My problem is that I am getting timed out more frequently and I'm just noticing a bunch of little things that were not happening before. There are some members noticing the site not running up to par either.
I'm beginning to understand that those numbers may be too much for shared hosting, even with a good host. So if I do decide to go with this package in the next couple of months, will I be able to grow a little more with the amount of members online at once.
I've got to ask a tacky question too, :D I saw that the bandwidth can be increased to 250 on that package with no extra charge. Is there an expiration on that or am I am able to ask for that in the next couple of months?

It's impossible to predict since usgae varies, but as others have said about their own experiences, it should.

The special changes monthly. You will be eligable for whatever special is on at the time you order.

I would like to THANK support for getting my site up and running. I could not have done it without them and I really appreciate it. :) My site is running better and so far, so good.
Thank goodness you all know what you're doing and manage everything! I can see that I have a lot to read and learn now! LOL
