I'm of Russian decent... My grandfather on my mother's side was born in Russia. Nobody knows where, though. Oh, and I'm 36-ish.

Old enough to be your father.

Still love Zeppelin, Stones, Allman Brothers(with Dwayne), Doors and Dead.

and young enough to listen to DMB, Hootie, Zeppelin, Stones, Allman Brothers, Doors, Dead and sometimes Eminem.

I just got an on-Campus job (: Network Tech. I help out and maintain 2000+ student dorm room connections and Wifi Network on each floor. Ranging from 3 to 15 stores in high. (: i drool of the networking equipment (: There are multiple oc48 fiber connects to cisco core routers. I'll try to take pictures. The network closets / cages still have the brandnew smell (:

The oldest here.

Old enough to be your father.I've learned my first programming language (FORTRAN 4) in 1969 (before the small letters were discovered. But you didn't need to push the shift key anyway - card punchers had non). And I think I remember when electrictiy was invented. Or was it the fire?

I remember at work having to boot a Kaypro machine with a system disk that was on a 5 1/4 inch floppy. THen they upgraded the machine by adding a second floppy drive :)

My first computer was a 8086 :)

I'm 48, feel 98 and have a mental age of about 12 :D
Born and bred in the UK (Cardiff) but moved to sunnier climes (South Texas) last year.

My first computer was a Dragon 32 (thats 32K of RAM) and moved up through Amigas on which I bought my first HD (52MB) and my first PC was a 386SX 25(MHz) - Those were the days, thank God they are over :D

ESC, '51 was a good year for me too!

My first Apple // with 16K and 2 5.25" drives is packed nicely in my attic, next to my Commodore 64 with color monitor and Cassette Tape drive and a box of 5 or 10 cassette based programs. I do wish I'd kept my Mac 512 with its exciting, high capacity 3.5" single sided floppy.

Aaahhh... Rids, you are trying to tell me that you did not use the legendary Kingston joysticks? ;)

As for the spectrum (http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html) games - what about Skool Daze (http://www.spectrum.lovely.net/Skooldaze.html) ?

Old enough to remember when
a) Color goggle-boxes were considered a "luxury" :-)
b) The "space invaders" and "pacman" crazes
c) Kids showed respect for their elders or they got a smack, and pretty sharpish.
d) Music CDs being released.
e) "Traffic Gridlock" was a phrase never used.

Not old enough to remember:
a) Moon landing
b) Kennedy assassination
c) Woodstock (the first one)
d) Elvis
e) punch card-reading computers

LOL

No marks to guess that...

but it might really be true in 2105 that a 32 days old would do just about everything a 32yr old does now.

hey there...

I'm 29. My first computer was a Commodore 64. And the most "fun" computer I have ever had was the Amiga 500. "Flashback" is the best game ever! (anyone remember that one?)

You can call me Ali, btw.
