I know this has to be the dumbest question(I should know this ), but is Monthly Transfer the same as Bandwidth usage?

Actually many hosts use the term "Bandwidth" incorrectly...Bandwidth means Xmbits or Xkbits. It does not mean XGB/month, that is really supposed to be transfer.

Ok so Monthly Transfer does this relate to how much ftp transactions can be done or does this include traffic coming in and out of a site?

It includes all traffic, both inbound and outbound.

Thank you all so much, my assumptions were right, I was so use to seeing hosting companies saying 20gb of bandwidth but now there saying 20gb of Monthly Transfer. Thanks for the clarification.
