I am a heavy user of remote desktop, and I keep facing the problem of bein locked out of it for a reason or another (usually when my laptop gets disconnected).
I have found so far two solutions:
1. Reboot VPS
2. Use plesk to kill the terminal services
I don't like the first one because the whole site goes down. The second one is not bad, except when the service becomes available I don't want to keep it and pay for it - just to reset my remote desktop. (and that would be the only reason I can see so far for plesk since I only have one site)
Are there any othe ralternative solutions, that don't require rebooting the VPS?
thanks

Can't you kill via the Vz Power Panel? You'll still have that.

Yes 2 things
1. If you know your client hostname, and its distinctive, we can identify your session and reset it.
2. We will be offering additional rdp sessions as an add on.

I would hate to contact support every time I need to reset the connection. It is a waste of your people's time. I am sure there is other things with higher priority than reseting someone's connection everyday.
The second suggestion sounds nice. Is that with extra cost?
As about power panel, I have not been able to find how to kill rdp from there. I cant even figure out what the service name is to kill it from there....

I was able to figure out what service to kill through powerpanel. A little risky though because you might kill the wrong one :)
I basically took a look at the list of running processes when the RDP was not connected (killed through plesk), and when it was disconnected but the server was still holding the session. I basically found there were an extra 5-6 processes running. Out of them you just need to kill the winlogon.exe one, however you have to be careful because there are two of them - and you need to kill the on used by rdp.

Hey there,
Just so you know, you can also reset your RDP sessions through Plesk's interface.
Login to Plesk, go to "Server" and then "Sessions". Click "TS Session". You can reset any session from there for RDP.
Regarding extra RPD sessions... this will be something that is a paid offering, as it will cost us more for additional seat licenses. (Gotta love M$ hehe.)
