View Full Version : Thinking about going VPS...

I have had a reseller account (whm and cpanel) for quite a few years (with another host). Used to use it for business, now more of a hobby though.

I host a dozen personal websites belonging to friends, a small ecommerce site (running oscommerce) and a forum (SMF), this forum has around 275,000 posts, 1700 members.. usually between 5 - 20 online at any one time.

I have upgraded my 'plan' with my present host, as I found my forum going slower by the day. Presently it is running well... but would like to ensure further growth with my forum wont grind it to a crawl!!

Can I expect the CPANEL POWER-1 plan to be as quick as my present shared hosting?

Thanks for any comments.

Hi PioneeR,

If you install eAccelerator (I'm sure PowerVPS will do this for you as it's very popular) you can probably make it even faster than the current host. 5-20 online at once is not very much at all for Power-1.

Best,
