I was wondering what additional steps you guys take to secure your servers? I found this thread on cPanel forums: http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=30159

What do you think about it? We already have a lot of it in place, but I'm interested in knowing about the rest (for instance enabling jailshell etc...)

Also do you know of any resources with similar step by step instructions pereferably with in-depth explanations on why each step is necessary?

Thanks.

Actually I am looking for something similar for a while now.

Would be great if someone from PowerVPS/DefenderHosting would put together a detailed how-to on how he/she would setup and secure a fresh dedicated Cpanel server.
It would be a great resource for DefenderHosting.

This would probably best be done at http://www.deftechgroup.com/wiki/ .

Indeed a very good thread. I've been there before and used many of the tips from there on my VPS.

Yes that is a good thread. I'm glad to say a lot of that is already done by us on turnup, but we can always do more. I'd love to see this stuff documented on the wiki, but unless we do a better job than those other threads, we are just duplicating effort. Of course I'd like to see our wiki/forums be the definitive source for such things :D
