When will the defender hosting site be up, im intrested in what dedicated packages they do.

Does anyone know if they are managed?

Are they supported by the VPS guys or are they a completely seperate part of the company?

Email sales email id from their homepage and you will receive a quick quote from them if you give them a rough configuration you are looking for.

Dedicated servers from them are not managed afaik, but you may ask about that in the mail too.

Guess if you get management for the box, you'd probably have the same team supporting you (maybe part of the same team).

They do have managed, but it's done through a single vps on a dedicated machine. There's a thread here somewhere about that. :)

a single VPS on the node...hmmm that is interesting, but guess its gonna cost approx 10-12 times the cost of cPanel Power-1, is that worth?
I'd guess 2-3 Power-3 VPS's instead would be better, atleast you are keeping your eggs in different baskets and have only a few clients over your head when a server fails.

Edit: Well a single VPS node might be a sensible proposition if you have a single popular site with a large forum that demands such a config.

No..they're using lower-speced nodes for a single VPS :)

So it's more like 5x the cost of P-1 :)

Guess even then I'd prefer multiple standard plans rather than a single VPS node for the following reasons:
1. The virtualisation layer is there even if it is not practically used. So might as well use it and distribute clients.
2. With multiple Power-1/2/3 accounts instead of a single VPS node, the host node is of a better config, moreover fair amount of bursting is possible too.
3. Guess a dedicated VPS on a node might still turn out to be more expensive than 2 Power-3 or 3 VPSes of each plan or maybe 1 Power-3 with 2 Power-1s.

I think it should be based on the actual requirements and I'm getting too fine now by judging whats good and whats not. For now I'm happy with what I have.

Are you asking about managed dedicated servers or our dedicated VPS servers?
