Your preferred DSBL list for blocking spam

Although I am using Plesk, other CP users may in interested in my question...

I was using only 'sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org' on my server, and while it stopped a good amount of spam, I still found some getting through. So, I'd like to add a few more DSBL domains to my server's mail setting. I'm thinking of the following combination:

sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org;list.dsbl.org;dnsbl.sorbs.net

I think that should do it -- I want to reduce spam but not run into the problem with blocking emails which may be legit. How is my list? Any I should add?

I am personally not a big fan of blacklists. The most succes I have had is using spamassassin efectively, which means using good rules. But you dont have to write them yourself. Many people contribute them for common spam and you can use Rules Du Jour to keep them current.

The instructions for Rules Du Jour were slightly over my head. Do you think you could write up a line by line How-To? I seem to be lost at 'Add RulesDuJour local settings.' Thanks.

In a related question, I often get email sent to former mail account holders. These mail accounts are no longer active, yet they get spam. In my domain's mail setting, (Plesk), there is an option to "Reject" mail to nonexistent users. The Help info says "Reject: the mail will be rejected during SMTP session without being queued for delivery. This option can save bandwidth and server resources." That sounds like exactly what I want, yet this feature doesn't seem to work -- I still get emails sent to either accounts that were never made, or accounts that were deleted. Is this a bug? Or do I happen to have some other setting toggled on, that I need to switch off?

I didn't do this on a server with a panel, and I know you have plesk, but these directions for installation on a cpanel box should be detailed enough (they are what I followed).

I would like to know if http://www.rvskin.com/index.php?page...c/antispam#1.4 is the same as http://www.configserver.com/cp/mailscanner.html ?
By the installed packages, it looks the same.

Also, is this setup too much ressources-eater for a cpanel-1 ?

I use it. No it does not eat too much resources (at least for me) and it works perfectly. This setup is rvskin compatible - which is great for me!
